Congratulations to our September 2021 Employee of the Month: Hannes Verwey
Hannes started his employment journey with DLK Group more than two years ago and was at that time appointed as Human Capital Manager. When he started, he was specifically brought on to manage a large complex SAP ERP project.
He has grown phenomenally over the last two years and was recently promoted to Chief Operating Officer – which entails overseeing all operations within DLK.
At this stage, he already displayed strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills with an ability to engage executive-level management as well as junior staff. As youthful as he is (he is our in-house Noot Vir Noot champion), he has displayed an extremely mature approach to everything he has been tasked with. He has also made some fundamental changes in the business in terms of efficiency and introducing new technology and systems. His constant alignment with innovation resonates strongly with the overall culture of DLK.
Hannes is a high-performance individual, who constantly analyses how he can improve himself and his immediate environment. His caring nature makes him a favourite amongst the rest of the staff and he is always willing to provide a listening ear. He has grown phenomenally over the last two years and was recently promoted to Chief Operating Officer – which entails overseeing all operations within DLK.
Hannes leads by example and has a culture of continuous learning. One of Hannes’ key passions is seeing the growth of individuals in the workplace who he has mentored.

In his pastime, Hannes spoils us with his cooking and loves painting and other artwork. As everyone knows, he is also Mr Gadget – as he loves gadgets and technology. Hannes continues to be a huge asset to DLK.
This accolade is therefore well deserved. Congratulations Hannes!
